Cooking time

  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 2 tablespoons ketchup

  • 3/4 cup beef broth

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 1-2 pounds fajita meat

  • egg noddles

  • Saute onions, garlic and mushrooms in butter in a large skillet. (I like to use a Dutch Oven.)
  • Coat steak strips with combined flour, salt and pepper mixture.
  • Brown beef over low heat in skillet. Then, return mushroom-onion mixture to skillet. Stir in ketchup and broth.
  • Cover tightly and simmer for one hour, adding more broth if necessary.
  • Add sour cream and heat throughly.
  • Serve hot over egg noodles.

  • You can also use Sirloin steak instead of Fajita meat. (I use the latter, because it comes pre-sliced and it saves me some time in the kitchen.)
